Professor Quirrel. Voldemort was shown as another face on the back of Quirrel's head. When Quirrel was traveling as a young man, Voldemort attacked him and posessed-ish him. It wasn't exactally posession, but there were two souls in one body. Quirrel had to hide Voldemort by wearing a turban, and wasn't strong enough to resist Voldemort's will. Thus, he went searching for the stone because Voldemort wanted it.
