"The Greatest Love of All" is sung by Whitney Houston and says that the greatest love of all is learning to love yourself. Now, I believe that it's important to love yourself, but it's better to love others.
"Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends" - John 15: 13

If you don't love yourself, how well can you really love another? When you don't love yourself, your love for others tends to be from motivating factors other than you wish to give them your love.

Its not referring to a selfish type of love, its referring to self acceptance. The kind of love you are able to give others when you have accepted yourself as you are is different than when you are wrapped up in your own insecurities.

IF you don't love yourself nobody else will. Self love is good to learn at a young age when you are being picked on in school. I think it's up to the parents to teach kids to love others as well as themselves not a song on the radio that was made in the 90s.

I love that song, although I prefer the original version. In either case, I really agree with the overall message. You have to love yourself first. People come and go for a variety of reasons so all you really have in the end is yourself.

Frankly, I didn't attract the kind of supportive and loving people in my life that I always wanted until I learned to love myself first.
