Well, it depends on what context it is being used in for one. Barbie as a toy is a doll created in 1959 by Ruth Handler after her daughter, Barbara. Barbie in the context of cooking can be the grill on which food is cooked or described as the food itself. This is oft referred to Australians usage by many sources. Americans use the name "Barbie" as a shorten description of Barbi cue. It is also used to describe someone in a not so flattering way such as being not smart or shallow. It can also be used to describe one that is very beautiful as I have heard used by one of my relatives about another.
