i've heard of this scene, but i've not seen the movie. what happens and why is it so infamous?

I rented it last year because I too had heard it was outrageous. It was mostly pretty boring. The big deal was that Marlon Brando used the butter for lube. Now, it happens that sex in general wasn't shown much in movies, and certainly not that kind ever, so that was the big deal, but in truth it was pretty blah.

It was either a sex from behind scene (her on floor face down, him on top of her), or a sex in the behind scene. For that time it was pretty racy, though it really didnt show much - from what I remember all you really see is her bare behind. Oh well, yawn. Didnt like that movie much anyway.
