Copy this: (put fractions one on top of the other, not side by side.)
(2/1 * 2/9) - (3/1 * 9/2)= x
Then,
2 * 2 = 4
1 * 9 = 9 (4/9 will be your answer to the first part)
3 * 9 = 27
1 * 2 = 2 (27/2 will be your answer to the second part)
Now, put these side by side with the minus in the middle. If you know, the 27 and the 9 cancel each other down to (3 in the place of 27) and (1 in place of 9)
you need to have a common denominator to subtract fractions. The least common denominator is 2. you are subtracting 3/2 from 8/2, giving you an answer of -5/2, or -2.5
