Because I've been searching, and in fact, that's how I just found this site. I haven't found anything yet and I'm surprised. I would expect for more people to share this fear, and that a name would've been thought up by now. Anybody have any idea?... Or is there a way we can coin a new term, if there really, truly, isn't any yet?

Hey. I'm not asking for rudeness, I'm seriously looking for an answer. So don't post and call me an asshole for trying to find something out.

I've been unable to find a specific phobia for drunk people (which must be a big relief to those Hellenologophobia suffers out there).

However Dipsophobia is the fear of drinking, Emetophobia.is the fear of Vomit and both Methyphobia or Potophobia both relate to Alchol.

The word phobia is Greek and so any word that is connected to it should therefore be Greek also. To coin a new phobia name you would have to determine what the Greek word for Drunkeness or Inebriation is.

Hi ! That phobia does exist. I know a couple of people who react really scared when seeing drunk people. And if you think about it most children also fear them. I recently search the net for that and couldn't find anything. But when talking about this to a friend who is taking psychology she told me in her text books they talk about the subject. So maybe if you went to a psychology library you could find more information on the subject.

I could be wrong but this seems about right to me

Methustes is drunkard so I'd suggest Methustophobia.

You're right. It's a pain of a search trying to find phobias. Why do they always list them according to the greek spelling? That's useless.

I don't know if there is a name for it but I have it.
I can't stand to be around some drunk *** person.
They always love you or hate you or want to fight you.
I hate that kind of drama.

People can develop fears about anything.
As for coining a term, I have a phobia about the proliferation of coined terms to label people so they can be understood in one word: alcoholic, queer, gangsta, Republican, religious right, commie.

Could be. I don't like to be around drunk people because I find them loud and obnoxious. My sister-in-law thinks that people have to drink to have fun. I don't think it's fun to act stupid, but I guess everyone has their own opinion.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is one and also not surprised if it eventually happens; anything can happen if there's a fear of bandaids
