Walton was asked to name the top-5 defenders of all time. He said “Russell, Jordan, Pippen, Rodman, and anyone else you want to put on the floor.
With those 4 guys on the floor, the fifth guy doesn’t matter”. Tom Tolbert lost it!
Tom insisted a few times that Bill give up a 5th name, but Bill dismissively stuck with his original list.
(....the 5th guy was actually Walton himself, he reserved that spot so that if his dreams came true he could like play with these guys!)
