I realize that at 14 years old body image is 50% of your world (if not more). But... If you really think you need to lose weight, be smart, speak to your doctor. Your body is still developing, if you start dieting and not giving your body the proper vitamins and minerals now, you WILL regret it when you're older. Your doctor will be straight with you, and at the very least get a dietitian to help you plan a healthy way to eat. That way you can get your body to a healthy weight and keep it that way. You don't need a diet to lose weight, you need to eat a proper diet to help you get a healthy body weight and image.

Listen, I used to be 200 lbs, I lost 50 lbs two summers ago and am now a steady 155 lbs. Don't hold yourself to something like a strict 1500 calorie diet because you will eventually blow it unless you have serious willpower.
First of all, you must want to do it badly enough to continue doing it. Eat things that you like that are unhealthy, but only sparingly.
You should know by a certain overall feeling of how much you ate in a certain day. For me, between 1600-2000 calories always hits the spot in terms of maintaining a healthy weight.
When I lost weight, I mainly focused on drinking a lot of water and I never drank sugared drinks so that wasn't a problem. Yogurt is very good, I still eat tons of it now in fact. Never start a day with a plan of what you will eat. Always make that decision based on hunger and what you've eaten due to circumstances that vary from day to day.
Trust me, you can tell if what you're eating is healthy by looking at the package. I tried not to eat more than 1 unhealthy thing per day, and the pounds just melted off when I realized how many cookies I would eat every night without even considering it something I ate.
This worked for me, I hope you can derive some good from it.

Hold on...don't diet so much when you're 14. You're still growing and not eating properly now can affect you later, especially regarding your period.
Eat a healthy breakfast, then have a small healthy snack with some protein two hours later. Then a healthy lunch two hours later. Snack like in the morning mid afternoon. Healthy dinner. Small snack two hours later.
Avoid things with high fructose corn syrup and hydrogenated fats and bleached flour (bleached, not enriched, that's ok) Also avoid full-fat dairy and white sugar.
The trick is to eat small portions and regularly during the day to keep your metabolism going. Another trick is to not drink your calories. When you get calories in a liquid form, your body doesn't recognize how many calories its getting, so you don't get full like you should and you end up eating more calories than you would if your drink calories came in a food form. High caloric drinks are coffee drinks (like frappaccinos and lattes), regular pop, and chocolate milk, to name a few. OJ is good for you, but has many calories, so watch your portions.
There are low calorie options for each, so go that way.
Also, if you don't lose weight after a while, go see a doctor as you may have underlying issues, regarding blood sugar or your thyroid or hormones.
Hope this helps!

I'm guessing you'll lose about 20 or 25 pounds before Christmas and it'll probably take 2 or 3 months before you're 100 lbs. You're doing good in your diet! Keep up the good work!

Okay for starters honey, nobody in their right mind would do 250 crunches in a day, every day... That's just rediculous and stupid!
If you want to lose weight, the way to do it is slow and safe... Talk to your dr about it... Get him/her to put you on a diet plan...What will happen is you'll get put onto a reduced fat/calorie diet and told to exercise as well. I went to my dr about it at one point and was put on a 2000 calorie diet but I found I coudln't stick to the same things every day for a long time. I am picky when it comes to food and I get bored of eatting the same blah things every day.
I bet you look fine the way you are and you likely don't need to lose that much weight... but why do you want to be 100 pounds??? You need to be more than that...you need to be healthy. If you're really overly concerned about your weight talk to your dr.... Check this site as well... http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpa/bmi/index.htm
I hope you are not measuring yourself against models you see in magazines .... Everybody is beautiful in their own way hon and you do not need to starve yourself to try to "fit in"... I'm a big girl and I can tell you that it has not slowed me down doin a lot... My husband is a bigger guy as well and we're always out doin stuff... we eat what we want, when we want, don't care what others think of us because we are emotionally there for one another and always give plenty of compliments and we boost one anothers confidence. We're active and happy, though overweight, but it is not what's most important in life: happiness is. If you don't like how you look, change for you, not for somebody else or to fit into what society says a girl should look like.
Take care of yourself... Good luck.

First of all, I don't think you CAN stick to that diet. How awful! Also, please be aware that when you cut calories below about 1,200 a day for someone your size, your body goes into "starvation mode" and starts storing everything as fat. You need to eat a variety of foods -- vegetables and whole grains along with that fruit and yogurt and chicken. Go to the library and check out a book on healthy eating.
