It is true I believe, my baby used to do the same thing , only when she was months old, shes now 4. No more eye colds. She grew out of them. Her tear ducts arent completely finished doing their thing, so they over produce now. It wasn't really cold in her eye (mine) it was more or less an abundance of tear drops that looked like mucus or what have you once it settled in the corners of her eyes. The warm towel is all you can do just to keep them clean because you surely don't want to let it dry. It will be like trying to get plastered glue from your two month olds tender eyelids. I went thru it also. She will probably grow out of it. Also, my daughter had that dandruff (cradle cap) a little while during the same time, just some conditioner and a lite baby brush and rinse her hair was all I could do, it was only dandruff, but called ccap in the mention of infants. Good luck and don't worry... Her tear ducts are maturing soon and everything will go in the right place...

the person who said clogged tear duct is right. it happened to my son alot and they do grow out of it. we put warm wash cloths on and it does go away after a few weeks. i know it sounds wierd and don't know if you breastfeed or not but a few drops of breastmilk in her eye will help clear up a little infection if that's what it is. my friends dr. suggested she try it when her newborn had pink eye. i did it when my son's eyes were goopy. if you don't breastfeed, warm washclothes and maybe some sterile eye drops if it doesn't clear up.

It's not "cold" sounds to me as if her tears are basically thick and it gets "goopy" the doctor is right a warm wash cloth is the thing to use. Also you might try a steam vaporizer in her room at night.

How do you know her eye is cold? How could the doctor tell? I know my eyes have never been cold, or anyone's I know.. so I don't understand.

First off make sure she fully understands hot and cold. And try to ask her for as many details as you can think to ask. Next BACK TO THE DOCTOR.
