You're not going to be able to overclock a 2GHZ processor to 3GHZ. The game won't just NOT RUN even though you're under the requirements - it'll just be slower. You can overclock your CPU, but it's probably over your head. If you find you really need a faster CPU, check with a local computer store, they can see what you have and how you can upgrade it.

There is no way you will be able to get that type of overclock, it just wont happen. you might be able to get a little more juice out of it but you will need to invest in some better cooling. When you start overclocking you are basically increasing buss speeds and voltage which make the CPU run alot hotter. If you are not careful you can burn up your CPU and ruin it. This is why water cooling is recomended for overclocked systems, but then you will have to spend about 200 bucks for a wotercooling setup.

Just upgrade the CPU if your motherboard supports it. If not Get a motherboard/CPU combo and use your old ram and video card.

I don't recommend that you overclock. Unless your ready to replace your CPU. If you can't afford a new CPU, then don't even mess with overclocking. Upgrading the CPU is probably the best answer in your case. At least you'll have 2 good CPUs. Here are a couple of comparable CPUs AMD and Intel.
