Your doctor has a low concern for testicular cancer because you are experiencing pain. Testicular cancer rarely causes any kind of pain and is usually discovered by a man during a testicular self exam or his partner during sexual intercourse. Lack of pain is why testicular cancer isn't usually discovered until it is advanced. If the lump is still there after you have finished your antibiotics, then you need to see your doctor again. Otherwise, you probably have nothing to worry about.

After an injury (little girl kicking him because she thought it was funny), maybe four months after, my son had a simular experience. He was much younger than you, only 7 years old. He had experienced a lot of swelling in one testicle. He got out of the tub and came to me worried to death. We loaded him up, took him to the ER. By the time we got there the swelling was gone. We left after seeing the Dr. When we got back home, he played a little while and it was back, so back to the ER. It was still there this time. At that time they diagnosed it to be epiditimitis and put in on antibiotics. About two months later it came back. This time off to a uroligist. They said it was probably a hydrocele and scheduled him for an x-ray. In the x-ray, they saw something, so they scheduled him for ultrasound. In the ultrasound they found a cyst, about the size of a pea. They said that he would probably be fine with it,but they wanted me to take him to a pediatric specialist. He said it needed to come out. When they went in, they removed the cyst, fixed the hydrocele and found out he also had a hernia. My suggestion to you is if you went to a family practice, make an appointment with a urolagist. It took about four months to find out what the real problem was going to the ER and family practice Dr.'s. This will also put your mind at ease. If it is something that needs special attention, you are better off getting it now rather than waiting and it turn into something drastic. Hope you get the answers you need. I know how worried I was with my son. I don't have those parts, so I had no idea what to do, I just knew it wasn't normal.

Any testicular lump warrants an evaluation by a physician.
If the bb size lump doesn't go away after you finish your doxycycline call your doctor tell him/her your worried.
The only sure way to determine if it is cancer is with a Biopsy and/or blood work.

If the medication has not helped the lump go away, it could very well be a cyst. Have your doctor refer you to a specialist. He will probably do a sonogram to see if the lump is really a cyst and whether or not it is benign.

I know a guy that had testicular cancer. Of course he is still alive today & did lose one testie.
+ bore a child. This was over 10 years ago.
If I took meds & it didn't go away, I would ask to see a specialist about it.

That sucks dude. Could be a cyst yeah, if the doc's not overly concerned about it than don't worry too much, he's a professional with a shitload of schooling who more than likely knows his stuff.
