James A. Rhodes, he was governor from 1975-83. It was his 2nd term - his first was from 1963-71 (he was governor at the time of the Kent State shootings on May 4, 1970).

FYI - Our governor-elect, Ted Strickland, is from my hometown of Lisbon and lives across the street from the Circle K. His fave hangout is the Steel Trolley Diner.
