2005 - 2006 Texas Longhorns...led by arguably one of the greatest qbs, clutch performers, and team leaders in the history of college football. Vince Young was simply unstoppable. This proved it self numerous times over the year, including beating the #4 Ohio State Buckeyes at the Horseshoe, giving the Buckeyes their first non-confrence loss at home since 1993. That Ohio State team finished the year at #3, and same key players are leading the team to the national championship this year. The teams biggest win came against the #1 ranked University of Southern California Trojans at the Rose Bowl. This team was completly loaded with two Heisman Trophy winners in the backfield (Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart), and two game breaking recievers. (Dwayne Jarrett and Steve Smith) The Trojans came into the game riding a 34 game winning streak, and no one gave the Longhorns a chance in this game. Weeks before the game, Sports Center ran a series every night to determine the Trojans place in History. It was concluded that they were the best team in college football history. The game itself went back and forth until the 4th quater. With 6:32 left in the game the Horns were down 38-26. The game was all but over, except to Vince Young. He drove his team down to score a touchdown to make it 38-33. On the insuing drive, the Trojans decided to go for a crucial 4th and 1 with 2:13 remaining in the game. If the Trojans made the first down, they could wind the clock down, if they didn't they would have to face Vince Young, the comeback kid. The Trojans did not get the 4th down, and the Longhorns took over. Vince Young then led the Longhorns down the field for the game winning score with 19 seconds left Young scored on 4th and 5 with an 8 yard run. After the game, it was almost uniamious that the Longhorns were the better team on the field and straight out won. This game was the Greatest Game in College football history and lived up to the hype.

Vince Young was not the whole team though. The team had a stellar defense, and the best offensive line in the country. The Offensive included a tandem of running backs and ran the "Spread" offensive. The preffered play ran by the horns with the zone read, and proved to be practically unstopable. Over the entire year the Longhorns averaged just under 50 points a game.

The 2001 Hurricanes, most of the players on that roster have played in a pro bowl. They were the fastest team. Only 3 people on that team had a 40 time in in the 5's
