In addition to having a good thorough check by an ophthalmologist, you should have your thyroid checked. Graves' disease is a very common thyroid disorder and causes changes in the eyes, as well as can be a contributor to depression.
Both George HW Bush and his wife Barbara (Jorge' and Babs) had this disorder diagnosed when he was in office.

I recently had severe eye problems: redness, dark circles, as well as ear popping. I went to many different types of doctors and nothing solved it, but they kept saying I had a type of allergy. I became pretty depressed - this had been going on for 2 years! I finally found out this week that I've been allergic to soap! My eyes are starting to recover now since I switched to a hypoallergenic soap, and the depression is gone.
If you see an opthalmologist or another type of doctor and your problems are still not solved, keep visiting different specialists until they are finally solved!

I have Grave s thyroid disease as well as Grave s eye disease. It s a horrible disease to have. I have double vision so my husband drives all the time. It s hard to watch tv and I can t stay on the computer for long. My doctor keeps changing the medication every couple of months and I wonder sometimes if that s what causing my depression. I m hoping that the depression clears up soon. Good luck to you.

It is important that you see a doctor and tell him these things. Why are you having vision problems? There could be a zillion reason. He can examine; we can't see you. Diabetes can cause eyes problems and it is very important that it is treated quickly to save your eyesight. Don't wait! Depression can be treated too. So hurry and get an appointment, okay?

well do you know whats wrong with your eyes? is it a vision problem or do you get headaches or dizzy or something? maybe if you get that fixed you'll feel better..the only way to find out is to get your eyes taken care of. im pretty sure that once you do that, even if your not totally rid of the depression, the stress will be much less and your health will improve...im sure you'll feel much better...so go to the doctor!! hope you feel better=0)
