That sounds pretty warped to me. I work a lot with schools and a lot of these teachers are pretty whacko and it's scary to think they are in charge of our kids. She obviously had some issues and that was totally inappropriate and very insensitive of her.
The way she made you feel should be your answer. No she was not doing any good whatsoever. You are right to stay far away from her. That was an unhealthy relationship even if she thought she was doing something good, she wasn't.

If you felt better AFTER getting out of her class, then she wasn't a healthy influence for you. It seems as if you filled her void for children (something she shouldn't have shared with a student) and she filled your need for peace and attention (which you weren't getting at home). You obviously got over what was happening at home or you matured enough to deal with it (you didn't mention which), so you no longer need what your teacher has to offer. Unfortunately, it seems as if she is exactly where she started. Don't feel guilty, you don't have to be around anyone that makes you feel uncomfortable. I don't exactly approve of your teacher taking advantage of your hard times to compensate for her void, but she did ease your pain for a while. As a teacher, I don't think I would ever do what she did. It just doesn't seem right.

It doesn't seem like you did the wrong thing. It sounds like she was going through a tough time and was unaware of what kind of a negative effect her actions my have on her students. I hope things are better for both you and her.
Good Luck!!!

She was using you as a child she wantedand saw you as someone she could find comfort in. It was not appropriate because it made things bad for both of you. she could have gotten obessed with you and you could have gotten too connected to her.
