A great way is to use a rubber mat with a good gripping surface. They can even be used under water. The mat can hold the plate or dish in place while the other hand does the scrubbing. I have seen these used to help the one-handed open jars as well. A high pressure spray nozzle would come in handy too!

I only have one hand and I can tell you It's hard. With a lot of practice and patience you will get pretty good at washing dishes, as well as most things with one hand.

I would just make the best use of the 1 hand I have. You can lay the dish in the soapy water and rub with a cloth with your good hand. I always run a greasy pan full of hot water and add alittle of dawn to let it soak so you won't half to work so hard cleaning it.

What a strange question! I know a lady who was born with only one arm. Whilst we might think its a dreadful handicap - she is such a spirited person that she can do almost everything you or I could. I do wonder though, if someone else loses their arm later in life if they don't adapt so well.
