Well there is really no way to possibly nkow the answer to this. Every woman ovulates at different times - the 14 "rule" is just a rough average and is not even remotely right for a lot of women.

But if you charted your cycles and you truly know what day you ovulated and had sex you would have had to have sex the day before or the day of ovulation to get pregnant. the sperm still may not have reached the egg by that point but we have no possible way to tell when it reached, we just know it did.

So for my daughter I consider my ovulation date my conception date because that's the only possible date I could go by. I conceived on cycle day 61 so I'm certainly not one with the "average" 14 days til o. :)

It is possible to conceive if you have sex anytime within 2-3 days prior to ovulation, as well as up to 24 hours AFTER (that is how long after ovulation the egg lasts). It is usually recommended to have sex every other day for one week prior to ovulation (having sex every day can actually hurt the sperm count) as well as the day of and even the day after just to be sure.
