It is COMPLETELY UNDERSTANDABLE that you do not want to use a tampon. I have a crooked cervix, which makes tampons VERY uncomfortable..But anyways, when I am on my period, I have "period panties"..They're what people call "granny panites"..But that's because I always wear thongs and g-strings..But I will get a big enough panty that is very comfortable, but fitting enough to hug me..Then I use a long pad (the over night ones) with wings. And yes, I do get the blood stains too sometimes, BUT that's when I am sleeping or laying down. If you are up on your feet most of the day, you should not have a problem because the flow is going with gravity and will go straight down. Same with sitting, etc etc..It's a good idea to check often in a restroom, OBVIOUSLY, to make sure that your pad is positioned correctly and where on the pad the spot is. If the spot seems somewhere close to making it out of the pad, then try positioning the pad so the spot will go somewhere else on it..At least, that's what I do, lol..I check myself often, not to where it makes me look paranoid to other people, but enough to keep me rest assured..
I hope I was of some help :)

My first question is why are you "deathly afraid" of using tampons? Tampons are the best thing you could do for yourself. I used to wear a pad when I was very young, but switched to tampons in high school. Believe me, when you switch you will wonder why you ever wore pads. Pad are so gross, and they leak on the sides and can smell a little if you are not constantly changing them. And they definitely show. You can see the outline when you're wearing pants. Do yourself a favor and get over your fear of tampons. If you're worried that you will no longer be a virgin, believe me, it makes no difference. You will still be a virgin. Tampons are tiny!

Well if you are afraid to use a tampon, then the best advice i can give you is to just not sit or lay in any positions the might make the blood go too far back or way too forward.......but I promise if you will just try the tampon thing, it is heaven-sent. They're great PROMISE!! They don't even let blood come out. So your choices is to hope you don't get blood everywhere or use a tampon and Not worry at all bout gettin blood all over you!!!

Cold water is the best remedy for removing blood stains, if its already happened. If you don't want to use tampons try those ultra thin long pads from Always. They are thin but yet they will cover you and change them regularly. And at night get the pads for plus size women they really keep you protected(Made by Always)

Well you got the using pads thing down. If those don't work use a different brand. Periods are different for different people. You should get one that absorbs more blood than your usual pad. Have a great day!

You need to change the pads when you're on your period. When you are having a heavy flow you'll need to use thick pads. Lighter flow you can use the thin pads. You need to check yourself more often so you don't have any problems with the spotting.

Use liners or pads with wings and change them often if there is a heavy flow. Also, get over your fear of tampons, they are great. Don't be so paranoid!

I use a Diva Cup. It's not a tampon, and to some people it may seem gross but it never, EVER leaks, and you can wear it safely all night long. It's cheap because you only need to buy one a year, and there's no garbage to throw away. But, I still think the best part is no leakage.
