I am in the market for a new cell phone company, and have been looking at Verizon, Cingular, and Sprint....I live in Birmingham, AL...but would like to know what others think no matter what city or state. But please put what city and state that you are from when you answer...this will help me out greatly.

I live in the MIdwest. I have Sprint. I have been very happy with their service, billing, and promises. I bought the cell phone to use in a remote area where I have a cabin. Several services had lousy service there. Sprint has always worked there. I even took it to the Virgin Islands twice (and keep in mind, I have the cheapest phone available--it is the one they give away for free) yet, when I was in the islands, no one could believe I was calling from that far away.
Of course, you will hear from people that have a Sprint horror story, but for me, they have been excellent.

I from Wheeling West Virginia. The best cell phones around here are Cingular. I had Alltell for awile and switched when my contract ran out. I love that there's roll over minutes, and no roaming charges. 90% of who I know with a cell phone has it. I changed my plan around and my last bill was only $36.07, and I have a ringtone. Alltel doesn't have the best ringtones. Verizon cost too much. Sprint is crappy. Cingular is #1!

Information is king: J.D. Power rates Verizon and T-Mobile as tops in regions where they are available.
I wish I knew before I signed with Cingular. Their network in Mich. is spotty.

I've been with Cingular since 1996 and have been pleased with their services for the most part.

Cingular's great, never had any problems. And the fact that whatever minutes you didn't use goes over to the next month is awesome!

Verizon. I've never had anything else. Yes, it's more expensive than the others, but it has great coverage and I never have dropped calls. Plus all my friends have Verizon, so the "in-calling" doesn't use up my minutes.

verizon. i have verizon and my phone works EVERYWHERE. the aircards 4 your laptop arent great but the phones are amazing.
