Just a couple questions? How long does it take to concieve after sex? A how does being pregnant feel the first two weeks? I had sex a day before my period, but my period didn't come till 3 days later and I was only on for 4 days instead of my usual 5-6. Will go to the Dr. on Monday but just wanted to get an idea! Thanks.

Look. You already got the right idea about going to the doctor, but you can't stress about this in the meantime. I had a period for the first 3 months of my pregnancy. I didn't even know I was pregnant because of that fact, so, yeah, you need a pregnancy test. But your cycle won't adjust to being pregnant that fact anyway. You probably have added stress so your tense and that may be the reason your period didn't stay on as long or the reason it was late.

If you got your period that soon after having sex, chances are you didn't ovulate at that point. You usually ovulate about 10-16 days before your period comes. So if you have sex after you ovulate, it's nearly impossible to get pregnant (though I suppose you could have sex the same day or day after you ovulate and get pregnant). You are probably not pregnant. Since you were on birth control pills, the chances of you being pregnant are even MORE slim, regardless of what pill you were on (placebo or hormone). However, there are some women who bleed while they are pregnant, so, as they say, almost anything is possible. You can go to www.peeonastick.com and find a good pregnancy test for peace of mind... if that comes back negative, and you resume your regular pill schedule, you'll be fine.
For me, those first two weeks didn't feel any different than PMS. If you were to ovulated the day you had sex, you would have fertilized the egg around 12 hours later. In the future, if you have scares, you can ask your doctor about the morning after pill--- it is essentially the same thing as birth control pills, just higher doses. It does the same thing as birth controls, just immediately. If you aren't sure how birth control pills work, definitely do a google search, maybe people are suprised to learn exactly what the pill does to prevent pregnancy. :)

Unless you are irregular you usually ovulate 2 weeks before you get your period. So having sex just before your period like that is highly unlikely you are pregnant. I think it takes a day or two for the sperm to get up to the egg (I am not a DR so I could be off by a day here or there lol) But I do know your egg only lasts a day so the odds are good that you aren't. If you can get a home pregnancy test in a week if you still ha vent gotten your period. You sound like you are still young and if so it isn't uncommon for you to just have irregular cycles. You may need to go on the pill to regulate that. I had to, it is very common :)

You can still have a period and be pregnant. See your doctor and make sure for your own peace of mind and also that you don't have any residue (condom) left inside that can create problems later on.
Other than spontaneous ovulation, many women ovulate between day 12 & 16 (starting with day 1 of your period). Sperm can survive up to 4 days.

Conception generally occurs in the 12 hours after sex. your hormones havent had a chance to kick in really in the first two weeks so symptoms may not present yet. Get a home test but make sure it is sensitive enough to get a good result (some wont test properly until after 2-3 weeks

Just so you know: It doesn't feel like anything to be pregnant during the first two weeks, nor even a month or two. But to answer your other major question: If you got your period, you're OK.

You were late but had your menstrual. You still could have gotten pregnant but I doubt it. Usually women who are pregnant at two weeks will not experience symptoms. Four days instead of five is no biggie, sounds normal to me.

You can get some pregnancy tests now that will tell you. I know EPT has one , that is kind of expensive, but it's meant for these kind of situations. While you're at Wal Mart, pick up some condoms so you don't have to go through this again till your ready.

You're likely NOT pregnant because you're on the pill and you had your period.
