He didn't say he sold his soul to the devil, he said that he made a deal with someone "up there" in an interview last year with 60 minutes. If you know anything about Bob, he's notorious for "pulling people's legs" in interviews.

because music and songs should be free, not paid for, and not controlled by big music production companies (aka record labels)
