I hope the majority of the Canadian electorate looks carefully at the new liberal leader, his party, their policies and look at what is happening in the world. The liberals have been and still are a wishy washy party. So no I don't think the new liberal leader can win the next election.
I hope enough Canadians are smart enough to realize that the liberals are still a wishy washy party, full of arrogance and still have the attitude of entitlement.
Conservatives have been critisized for following too close to the U.S.
I disagree loudly. Mr. Harper has raised issues with President Bush that concern both countries and has disagreed with him on many.
The Conservatives have beefed up our military that was sadly falling into disrepute. The previous liberals are appalled with military issues and don't give a damn about it. They think as many of their supporters that Canada is a peacekeeping nation meaning we just have to say to some warring factions, "now now stop fighting and lets talk this out". Hello! it does not work that way. To make peace you have to talk the talk and walk the walk. Which means engageing in concrete dialogue and show that you will use if necessary modern functioning equipment.
As well, the Conservatives are lowering the huge amounts of tax that we Canadians have to pay. I hope that when the next election comes, Canadians will give the governing Conservatives and PM Harper another term (minority is fine). For the official opposition I would like to see an NDP/Green Party coalition to police the environment issue. The environment is the only area that I can criticise the Conservatives on. The NDP/Greenparty MP's would do an excellent job of policing that area.

I really hope Stephane Dion can lead the Liberal party to victory the next election but I kinda doubt that it would actually happen. He doesnt have the wide range of support needed to actually win. The west will definetly oppose Stephane Dion; the right winged people would turn to the Conservatives and the left winged people would turn to the New Democrats. Bob Rae is clearly the better candidate, even the Conservatives after the results were released admitted that Bob Rae would have posed as a serious threat to them. But again, we'll have to see what magical powers Stephane Dion has, maybe he can argue his way through in the House of Commons and eventually gather support. Or maybe even the Conservatives would totally mess up and result in a Liberal landslide majority. Either way, we'll just have to see. Poor Bob...

No I think Dion is a mistake. He will not carry Quebec and Western Canada will reject him as well as Ontario.
I think the Liberals guaranteed a Conservative Majority next election.
After that election the Conservatives will be solidly in the driver's seat and will probably have at least 2 more terms.
Canada will look different in 6 years.

i wish so, we desire Tory rule till ultimately a minimum of 2020 then we desire labour. And whoever says he's susceptible is misguided, such divisive subjects as gay marriage and Europe might arise for any PM at present, the two considered one of which might split a occasion and a vote of no self assurance may well be referred to as with the PM being ousted and a coalition maximum possibly falling yet throughout the time of his management there remains a Tory occasion, nonetheless a central authority, and he remains chief. the different PM might have crumbled, he's in no way susceptible.

I'd say unlikely. he's not popular in Quebec, and without Quebec the Liberals won't get enough seats to win. he's sure not going to pull many out west

i really do not care about Canadian politics because their far right wing is like our democrats, so its a win-win, but i would probably have to say that if not in the next election probably the one after.
