if your not pregnant obviously your blood would not show that you are. you will start out at a low number of hgc level in your blood and it will get higher as long as your still pregnant. if not the level of hormone will go down until it reaches 0.. also it goes up quickly. when i first found out i was pregnant i had a home test be positive and the test at dr say no - so they drew blood. my level was 14 . two days later it was 22
