Okay well I'm in a massive situation. I'm currently going to college in FL and my mom mails me my birthcontrol down when I need it and it was suppose to come today and it didn't and I'm suppose to start my new pack tomorrow? What can I do?? I called the pharmacy and they said the couldnt' do anything and I went to an urgent care center on the island where I live and they coudln't do anything either. I'm completely stressing out with this because I'm very good about taking my birth control on time at the same time every day I've been on it for over 2 years and have never missed a day. I was also wondering if I could take a different kind just for 3 days or until my pack comes in. My friend takes Ovcon and she has an extra trial pack that she said she could give me, I take Trinessa which is a generic verision of Orthotricyclen? What should I do..I know not have sex, and I won't...

Unfortunately, you are probably going to have to wait for your pills to come in the mail. If they come Monday, take one as soon as you get the pills and then take the next one at your regularly scheduled time. If they come on Tuesday, take two pills at your regularly scheduled time on Tuesday and then take two pills at your regularly scheduled time on Wednesday. You should use a backup method for seven days. You may have some spotting this month.

Do not take your friend's birth control pills. Ovcon does not have the same hormones as Orthotricyclen.

I suggest finding a doctor who can give you a prescription for the pills in Florida, so that you don't have to worry about this in the future.

lemme get this straight.....your mom sends you birth control?

My suggestion is get your own doctor, and your own pharmacy, where you live. Not having sex is a good idea, but your 'cycle' might get out of whack if you don't get started now.

So tomorrow morning, YOU call the pharmacy that has been supplying the birth control and have them transfer the prescription to your local pharmacy. If you are out of refills, then your mom would have had nothing to send you anyway. Either way, get a local doc.

You'll be a day late, so just double up your first dose. And tell mom 'thanks', but you'll be handling your own health care in the future.

I can't believe the urgent care center couldn't write you a prescription since you went in. I would see about transferring your prescription to where you can pick it up in the future. I don't think I would take your friend's trial pack. Just start yours when you get it and be very careful for at least a month.

Please don't take your friends birth control, that will not work.

If you can start only a day late, go ahead and take two doses at the same time. If you miss more than two days, you should wait until the next month and just start then. If you aren't having sex you shouldn't have any problems.
