I don't think that can be done in your case because of the child support. A no-fault divorce can be filed at the county-clerk's office by an individual, but that is usually for simple cases not involving children or property.

You can do it online, or do it like I did today. Go to Office Depot and where they have legal forms, pick up a Socrates Divorce Kit for $30. Fill it out, take it to the court house and all you pay is the filing fees...$150+/- depending on your state and county. There are forms in the kit that pertain to child support, visitation, and splitting property. But doing it this way, online, or picking up the papers from the courthouse is for UNCONTESTED only. It won't work for one that will involve fighting over issues.

Well to answer your first question. The answer is yes. However when there are children and other issues involved, then the best answer should be no.
You should and more than likely will need a good lawyer. Otherwise your put yourself at grave risk of being taken to the cleaners!!

yeah but you should it really does pay off in the end regarding alimony and child support my lawyer got me 1500.00 USD alimony for 5 years. it cost me in lawyers fees about 3500.00 but good stuff each month...we were married for 11 years. I think you have to be married for 7 years to get it tho BUT if you have kids, be smart and get a lawyer.

When dealing with child support I would hire an attorney. If you both agree on majority of your issues then it shouldnt cost much_

Yes, you can. You can pick up papers at the counthouse. As long as you both can agree on who gets what, then you should be fine.
