Information concerning this can be easily found online. I will provide a link to a decent tutorial at the end of this answer.

A PCI slot is a long narrow slot found on the motherboard of your computer. This installation should be fairly quick and painless.

1.) Turn off your computer (tower)

2.) Remove any wires attached to the back of your computer and remember where they were connected so you can plug them back in afterwards. You will want to get the computer out in the open where there is ample light and you can maneuver yourself around the computer easily.

3.) Once the computer is out in the open you must take off the case of the computer. This can usually be done without a screwdriver. There should be large screws located at the back of the tower. Your goal is to expose the inner left side of the computer (if the front of the computer is facing you).

4.) With the case removed you should be able to see a large metal box in the top corner (right where the fan is on the back of the computer). PCI slots are easy to recognize. If you look at the back of the computer (where all the cables were connected) you should see a bunch of metal plates that are secured in place by screws on the inside of the computer. Corresponding to each metal plate there should be a white slot (usually white) protruding from the motherboard. (there may be other slots that are longer and etc, ignore those, remember you said you had 4 PCI slots, look for 4 identically shapes slots).

5.) Once you have identified these slots you should pick an empty one that you want to put your new sound card into.

6.) Before touching the inside of the computer or removing the sound card from the anti-static bag you should "ground your charge". Just touch the metal frame of the computer and make sure you don't have any static

7.) With a screwdriver carefully remove the screw that holds the metal plate down at the back of the computer (the inputs/outputs for your new sound card will be placed here soon). Don't lose this sxcrew

8.) Take the sound card out of the bag. The card will only fit into the computer one way. The card will have a part that extends out a bit. That is the part that will snuggly fit into the PCI slot. Hold the card so the metal edge of the slot faces the back of the computer and line up the slot with the protruding edge of the card.

With a little force the card will fit so the sound inputs/outputs will line up properly with the back of the computer. (do not push too hard)

9.) Screw in the card.

10.) Put the case back on

11.) Plug in the computer and start it up

12.) Use the CD that came with your sound card and install the drivers for the card

13.) Enjoy

1. Position the PCI card in the slot directly over the connector and gently push down on both sides of the card until it slides into the PCI connector.

2. Position the PCI card in the slot directly over the connector and gently push down on both sides of the card until it slides into the PCI connector.

3. Most PCI cards are being installed into the computer to connect some peripheral to the computer system. This means that one or more cables will need to be attached between the PCI card and the peripheral. Attach any internal or external cables at this point.

and ur done ....

Push the card firmly down into an empty slot, screw it in place, put the cover back on the machine.

Turn the power back on and insert the installation CD that came with it. Just follow the screen prompts.

You're done.
