I am very confused i went to the ER after having non-stop bleeding and they told me i was having and threatned miscarriaage but my cervix was closed which is good and to take it easy .At the ER he couldnt find the baby through the tummy ultrasound so he did a vaginal and said there was no fetal movement to my knowledge im only 5 weeks so i wasnt worried.I made an appointment the next day and my arrogant ob/gyn he did a tummy ultrasound after i told him that they culdnt see the baby that way and he insisted and told me that that i miscarried and that it looked like i was never pregnant .I told him to call the other hospital they have blood work and about 15 ultrasound pic that beg to differ . I dont belive that i miscarried and im getting a 2nd opioin b/c no tissue passed and honestly after my Rhogam shot i basically stopped bleeding.its like my body was attcking the baby and that caused all that bleeding. I can accept a miscarriage with the correct test . What do you think?

was in the same postion as you. Started to bleed like a period. Went to the hospital and they said the exact thing. My Hgc levels were dropping, but i pasted tissue. I went to the ob/gyn and they confirmed that i had a misscarriage. Its best to go for a second opinion because i went to another gyn and they said that same thing. So if u feel that you need to know if or if not then hun go see someone else. If you feel that you are still pregnant go see them. Take another home pregnancy test. Because its very possible to have bleeding like that and then its not aborted. My body attacked the baby too especially with my first, but I didn't miscarry like they thought. Its possible, but hun be prepared if its not what you are hoping. I pray you get the answers you seek and then try again later. God bless

I miscarried triplets at 16 weeks last December. My cervix was closed, I had no cramping and very light pink discharge. Vaginal ultrasound detected three fetal poles but each had stopped developing at different times. One at 6 weeks one at 9 weeks and one at 10 weeks. My body was not rejecting the pregnancy but my babies had been dead for more than 4 weeks. The best way to check is to have a blood test to check your hcg levels...then re test in 48 hours. By that time, the level should have doubled. I had a D&C because there were multiples, and because my body was not rejecting them on it's own. I went another 5 days before the D&C with no cramping and the spotting had even stopped.
If this is happening to you, my heart goes out to you. Miscarriage is a very difficult thing to go through. If you will try to concieve again, continue to take you prental vitamins and good luck! I am now 34 weeks along woth one very healthy baby girl!
Oh, and if you do try again...get a new doctor! Your doc sounds like a real jerk!
Good luck and my prayers are with you.

Hon, I would find another doctor. I went through the same thing that you did (going to the ER because of bleeding). They told me that they felt like it might be a threatened miscarriage although they didn't see any tissue. I had several ultrasounds (regular and vaginal), which all showed nothing but a thickened lining, and numerous blood tests to check the levels. My doctor said that I was still pregnant but felt I was losing the baby and did another blood test just to make sure. I ended up having a d&c about a week and a half ago. You need to find a doctor that is actually going to listen to you. I hope that everything works out for you. Good luck.

You are doing the right thing by getting a second opinion but you have to be prepared for the out come. If your body is telling you that you didn't miscarry then maybe you didn't. Good luck and i hope that everything goes the way you want it.

Definately get a second...and a 3rd opinion if that's what it takes to make you feel secure. But you definately need to get rid of the doc you're seeing. 5 weeks along is WAY too early to be giving anybody Rhogam (it won't hurt you or the baby, but it should be done later)! That quack doesn't know what the hell he's doing.

Get 2 more opinions, but beware doctors are out to get as much money as possible and will run tests that have no real reasons for it just to make you pay for getting tests done.

It sounds like your OB/GYN is pretty insensitive. I think after I got a second opinion I would be finding a new OB/GYN!!!
