I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong......so how can I fix it. I have tried driving schools and I'm told to keep driving and things will get better. WHEN???? This FEAR is comsuming my life to the point of its the only thing I can think about. I have prayed, cryed and begged GOD for help. I know GOD has been with me because I have never caused an accident or hit anyone or thing.

some people are not meant to drive. Maybe you are one of them

Driving IN the city of Chicago is a quite different than driving around on residential streets outside the city. So I can understand your fear. I too get very nervous when driving in the city. There is so much to pay attention to. And if you aren't familiar with the area that just makes it worse. Maybe you just need more practice on roads that aren't so congested with people and cars. You could try putting on soothing music to help calm your nerves.

There is one thing to consider here --
"There is no SATISFYING rational answer for an EMOTIONAL concern."
We can all tell you that you are doing well, and things will get better, but as long as this is an EMOTIONAL issue, there is nothing anyone can tell you that will be SATISFYING encouragement.
You Do make reference to the sole focus of your help; Prayer.
Some scriptures to make it a point to meditate on. (You will not that I didn't say BARGAIN with God, that isn't the way He operates)
Isa. 41:13
Prov. 1:33
2 Tim. 1:7
Rom. 8:15
Ps. 46:1
Jn. 14:27
Remember, it is by His Spirit we live. Don't let the accuser make your life miserable.

Blessings, and remember "...I can do all things through Christ, who giveth me strength!" (Phil.4:13)

Merry Christmas
