Is it possible to get heartburn at 13? At random times, I'll feel a tight feeling from my chest to lower neck. It feels as if there's food stuck or something. What could it be? It happens a few times a week. I'm not too overweight or unhealthy. 13, 5'3, and 125.
thanks
P.S.-Sometimes I'll get a sharp pain whenever I breathe in for a few seconds. What could that be?

The problem is that my dad is a doctor and he says there's no problem.

The tight feeling is probably nothing more than acid reflux (heartburn).
Your chest cavity has a lining (called a parietal pleura). If there is a spot in the lining that becomes dry, you will experience a sharp pain that resolves after taking a breath. Taking a breath will help lubricate the dry spot. This is very common and most people have experienced this at some point.
I believe your dad is right and nothing is really wrong with you.

I had heartburn at age 15, so I know what you are going through. Nobody thought I could have health problems at such a young age. Now, because I did not have proper treatment when I was younger, I am on some medicines which are the last resort before needing surgery to correct my severe stomach acid problem. I hope you can convince your dad to check you out better or refer you to a specialist. It does not hurt to be safe.

i had this problem at around the same age. it went away after a few months, but at 23 or so the same symptoms arose so I went to the doctor. This past time it was diagnosed as asthma, but previous doctors told me it could be stress or like you said, heartburn... you should ask your parents to take you in for an exam.

What the hell are you? If you're 13, I would say ease off on the Maccas. If you're 5'3, I would say learn how to express yourself in language that people can understand. If you're 125, then you should thank God that you have made it this far. Maybe it's time to put your affairs in order.

Go to the doctor you could have a heart problem or something wrong with your digestion, but if it happens a few times a week then it could be serious. Go to a doctor

I suggest you see someone for asthma.
When does this usually occur? Do you have allergies? Have you ever been tested for asthma? When you get a cold, does it take a longer than usual time to recover?
Getting proper care for asthma is important, if that's what you have.
