Is it a bad sign if you don't get your period for a long time?
i haven't had my period in about 5 months. i've been getting my period for 3 1/2 years now (i'm only 15), and for the last year or so, its been late. i miss it for like 2 months, then 3, and now its 5. is there something wrong with me?
-i'm still a virgion
-haven't lost or gained weight
-i'm not deppressed
-not taking any pills (birth controll, etc)
-no unusual hair growth
-sometimes have trouble sleeping
-when it does come, i have heavy-extremely heavy cycles
-have not yet been checked out, and am a little scared to.

Okay, when I was first starting my period (and was a virgin), my period was very irregular, going from 35 days (5 weeks) to 6 months between periods. I actually had irregular periods like this until I went on birth control -- which I did not go on because I wanted to have intercourse. I wanted to stop being so afraid something was wrong with me.
I am a mother of two and still have irregular periods, though they go from 28 days to about 2 months (if I'm under stress). If it's something that worries you, you should talk to your family physician (no matter how embarassing it is, and trust me, I remember how bright red I turned even talking about periods with anyone).
I hope my experience helps you, and there were times I was terrified someone had done something to me I didn't remember or I was asleep for. Consider asking about a birth control that normalizes your period just for your peace of mind if nothing else.

it'll be all right, go get it checked out girl! I'm older and when I was trying to concieve, stopped having periods and found out I had a tumor on my pituitary gland, no worries, there are meds for that but it is probably just something not so serious, probably send you for blood tests and minor stuff like that. It will be fine - GO!

you should go get checked out for cervical blockage or any other irregularities but also stress can cause periods to be late and heavy just relax and go to you ob/gyn. they can put you on a birt control regimne that will aide in straightening you out. good luck.

Don't be afraid to see an obgyn--they have a wider range of knowledge regarding the possible problem. Even though you're young, this shouldn't be happening to you...don't be scared. Have faith that you'll be fine. Take care, and Happy Holidays to you!

yes it is, it usually means your not eating right. are you eating all your vegetables? do eat too much sugary things? hey, try taking one vitamin E every day for two weeks. if that doesnt work, go to the doctor. they'll proabably just put you on birth control pills. their suppose to keep it regular. i know for a fact that the vitamin E works cuz i take them myself and it never fails.
