Basically, what I'm asking is: "Is China really opposite the U.S. in the world? And if not, who is (or where is it)?" I'm just curious, thanks!

I really don't think you could dig straight through earth to the other side of earth. You would burn to death. You ever heard of magma which is underneath the earth crust and creates lava from like volcanoes. However, it is an interesting thought where you would end up if you went through earth to the other side of it. I think you would probably end up in Middle East not China.

The point opposite a theoretical "dig" point is called an "antipode."

And a point in the northern hemisphere would have an antipode in the southern hemisphere, so the US-China scenario could not work.
