You know, the ultimate choice is to reinstall your operating system. If you have the CD, just insert it and follow instructions to install the operating system.
Now, if you could tell us what bad(are you having errors, computer getting slow etc) you are experiencing, we could help you on that.
Before you try the last optionas said above, let me help you try these common things(since you did not say specific, I am listing common steps):
1. First, download ccleaner(www.ccleaner.com). Use this nice program to delete junk files from your system and also clean invalid registry items.
2. Uninstall any program you think is not important for you(or you don't use it at all).
3. Run disk clean up(start>programfile>accessories>system tools>dusk clean up). Then, go to advanced tab and clean all previous system restore point except the last good one. this will help relief your system burden.
4. Install two antispyware program(adaware se personal edition and spybot search&destroy). Run those and check if any spyware/adware is causing problem in your pc. Both are free.
5. Install zonealarm free firewall. Also, Check if you have antivirus working fine and updated. if not, download free AVG antivirus.
6. After all these, run disk defragmentor tool. Restart PC.
See, if you have any change.
7. If you are having browser related proble, upgrade IE6 to IE7. Uninstall unnecessary toolbars like yahoo, google etc. Those are simply useless.
8. Also consider using alternate browser like Opera(www.opera.com) which has the best security track record (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_web_browsers) .
Hope it helps.

Hi
I would fist delete all the junk that you don't need from there. I would also recommend a programme called 'Ccleaner'. This programme cleans your computer when every you want it. If you want to delete and reset everything the way you found it then I would recommend reformating the computer. That will delete everything and restore the computer the way you first got it. Reformating is another word for reinstalling windows again.

I am not sure that is going to help you or not, just go to google and type in reformate windows and find all the instructions. Hope this helps you. Can you please register in my forum

The simplest way to do this is.. Get your OEM (dell,hp etc) Install CD and it'll ask you when you start the process by pressing f8 when the computer starts up when the cd's in the drive and format the drive and then re-install the computer with a new copy of XP. And be sure to install the driver CD for the computer when installation is complete... Hope this helps.

Your question is very hard to answer if you’re not computer expert. I have a computer and I do detect things inside it. I’ll go into My computer then Control Panel then click Add and remove but the hard part is that sometimes files move into others programs went you shut down your computer. So you have to be very careful you don’t delete anything that you need. So the best answer for your question will be to take it to someone you know will help. Like a computer doctor. If you decide to do it yourself then please first do yourself a favor and use System Restore.

Im not an expert but I have windows XP and it has restore options you can restore it to an earlier date, I did that instead of the CD reinstall and the PC is working great, go to my computer then to performance and maintenance and on the left side there is a system restore, it gives you all the instructions and it is reversible as well. Good luck

Really the only way is to format the primary drive. IF YOU HAVE THE DISC don't try it if you do not have the OS disc and remember that you will lose everthing so back up anything you want to keep on another drive or cd \ dvds

You can do it , if you have the recovery disk that came with your system when it was new. Just put the CD recovery disk on the CD drive and shut off your system and follow the instruction on your screen. you will lose everything , it's going to be like new

Well, theres only one way as far as i know (besides the hard ways). Redo your computer. Uninstall windows and then install windows again but this gets rid of your files unless you back it up on external media.
