Yes, it hurts.... for only a half a second. :)
The worst part of getting your ears pierced is letting your imagination get the best of you, and the anticipation.
They swab your ears with alcohol and then draw a tiny dot on each ear with a purple marker so they know where to make the holes. Then they put the earring in the little gun and squeeze and it goes through your earlobe and it's done! It stings for half a second when they actually do it but then it's over. And no there is NO blood.
And you'll be so relieved to know it's all done that you'll forget all about how scared you were. It's really not as bad as you might imagine. After you're done, your earlobes might feel a little warm for a little while, but that's also very normal. The most important thing to remember is to clean your piercings often, with the solution they give you, or an alcohol swab. You need to keep them clean during the healing process because you could get them infected and that is what hurts.
Hope this helps, be brave :)

OMG i am 13 too and just got my ears pierced like two months ago. i was soooo scared to get them done, but my friend and i went to a jewelry store together and decided to do it. our moms made sure they used sterile equipment, and everything was great. here's how they pierced them:
1) the guy drew a little dot on each ear
2) he wiped my ears off with some alcohol
3) then he put the gun up to my ear. i heard a tiny click, and then it was over
when they pierced them, it really did (i know that's what everyone says but it really is true believe me) feel like a hard pinch. then it stung a little, but if you hold a cotton ball with alcohol on them after, the stinging gets much better. Now i get to wear fun earrings....it is so worth it, and you will be so surprised how much it doesn't hurt. and also, think about the great earrings you can get for Christmas or Hanukkah or Kwanzaa or whatever you celebrate....good luck!! :)
Oh!! And also i was shocked that the horrible "gun" i heard about just looked like a little platic glue gun...heehee.

YES, it hurts. But only for a minute. And it's not really the piercing that scares you but the sound of the ear gun going off in your ear. After you get your ear pierce they say you should wait 6 weeks, but I recommend longer because you ear is still adjusting to having a foreign object in your ear. If you can wait at least 3 months and more. Always keep your ear hole clean with alcohol or you will be so disappointed if you don't. Your hole can close if they get too infected and sore that it hurts to get your earrings back in. If this happens you will have to wait a couple of years to get them re-pierced (a lot of places won't re pierce a second time because it can lead to scar tissue on your ears, which have to be surgical removed). So be patient and take my advice, you won't regret it.
PS I work in a jewellery store and have seen my share of disappointed women who can't wear earrings anymore because of scarring.

Doesn't hurt. They feel a bit warm for a while, and the noise is kinda startling, but doesn't hurt. Make sure to twist your new earrings, clean the piercing and don't remove the piercing earrings until the holes are healed.

If you are afraid don't do it. Now a days no it doesnt hurt, they do it so fast, with a gun. Your ears will appear red immediately after but this goes away. Be sure you speak to someone before you get it done as to how to take care of them after its done. No dont ask the in store piecer. Also take a marker or their marker and make a dot exactly where you want your hole to be otherwise they will just shoot the gun, they dont think of these things. Good luck.

if you get the lower part pierced its absolutley pain free but if you try your cartlige then you have something to be scared of.
they will mark your ear with a pen to show you where it will be pierced then theyll load the gun with the earing and place on your ear theyll pull the trigger you wont feel anything.and the earing is already in. and your done and can go. but you have to leave the earing in for 6 weeks so the hole never closes up. but after that you can switch your earings whenever. and dont forget to clean your hole ever so often so it doesnt get infected.

It doesn't hurt too much but remember it is temporary! You probably have experienced far worse pain!
Take a friend with you and tell yourself to be brave. I waited until I was in my twenties to get my ears pierced b/c I was afraid and it was silly!
It is a fast sharp pain that feels a little "hot." Over very quickly.

I'm the same age and got mine pierced a month ago. I had tried once before, but chickened out. Take a friend with you and if you go to Claire's or some other store, look at things in the shop. It distracted me, and I barely felt it.
