All of a sudden when I'm trying to browse, links open but are minimized. They've just started doing this so I have to maximize them all. How can I default them to open max????

When you start internet explorer, does it open your homepage also minimized? Or that only happen to new links that you click on from a webpage?
I assume, you meant the windows are not maximized right?

Anyway, in general, if the window is not maximized, then you can manually resize the window and click the maximize icon at the top right corner(to the left of x sign). The internet explorer should remember your last window size when you close and start internet explorer again.
I guess, in your case that also is not solving.
Try this: go to internet explorer properties>advanced>restore to default setting. Set everything to its default setting. Ths should solve the problem.

I also recommend, if you are using IE6, please upgrade to IE7 which is far better version in terms of security.
Hope it helps.

Just as side note: Its time to completely abandon IE and try alternate browsers like Opera or firefox. I highly recommend Opera(www.opera.com) which has the best security track record (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_web_browsers#Vulnerabilities )

Make sure when you close out all your IE pages that they are all maximized so that it will know to open at maximize rather then at minimized.

Go to the shortcut of IE you always click on. Then right click it and select Properties. Then under the tab shortcut, go to the drop down next to run and select Normal Window, click OK and done. It should work.
