After my divorce, my friend invited me to her parents' house for Christmas at the last minute. I love her parents. But of course they didn't have a gift (neither did I), but it was nice just to be able to go somewhere for Christmas.
Her mother gave me a gift. It was a cheesy little ceramic bowl from the 1960's. Obviously something found around the house that she could part with. I graciously accepted and thanked them all.
I know, it's the thought that counts and they tried. But I knew it was an emergency gift.

The worst Christmas present I ever got was a fruit cake with a big red bow, and a card reading “Sorry no money this years but I baked you this yummy fruit cake” You want to know what I did with that so called yummy fruit cake? I sent it back with a card reading “sorry but you can have your yummy fruit cake and stick it were the sun don’t shine”. Here’s the funny part it was from my now ex-husband.

I punched in early for work once in 2 years. My supervisor had just left for another company recently before and the other super was pulling double duty. I was fired by the super who took over just for that on christmas eve.

A baby doll called jelly belly beans when I was 12 from my brother. He didn't get to see me much and didn't realise I'd grown up. It was something a 3 year old would have liked. It kind of sucks though because he died not long after that, and its the only thing I have to remember him by.

my grandma got me this HUGE white purse at St. Vinnies for 25 cents (price tag was still on it) and it was quite used! inside was some perfume that she had for a really long time and it was either used or just so old that some of it evaporated cause it was only half full it was Wind Song and the only reason it stays on someones mind is cause even when it's new it REEKS!
