well on the end of the body, there should be a peg, there should also be a peg on the head, but if there's not, then go buy a strap holder thingy for your neck, but there has to be a peg on the body, don't make the same mistake I did...............

I, too, have have started to take guitar lessons. I began back in September. You gave the brand name of your guitar but you did not tell what kind it is. I bought a classical guitar, a flamenco, actually. A classical normally doesn't have a place for a strap. There are several options, however. Classical guitarists may use a foot stool to raise the height of their leg so that the guitar is at a correct height and angle. If one does not want to use that, than there is a bracket that attaches to the guitar itself which in turn rests on the leg of the player, holding it at a correct playing height. Also, it is possible to use a special strap which has hooks that attach to the large hole at the front of the guitar. I have seen players use all three methods. I am just learning about guitars and I have told you all I know. I am sure there will be many other answers from people who know more than me. But, my best advice would be, take your guitar and strap to a music shop staffed by knowledgeable and helpful staff. Good luck.

Strap or cord? On most every guitar there is a little peg on what would be the bottom if you stand it with the tuning pegs up. Or at least a hole where the strap should be. That is where you connect a strap. The other end is all a matter of type: if electric, there is another peg somewhere near the other end of the guitar just like the one on the bottom.
If acoustic, straps will have to be tied to the other end with some kind of string. Most straps come with the string.
Some acoustics have another peg just like an electric.
Also, at most music stores they sell the pegs and you can screw them into the guitar yourself. Hope that helped.

Your instructor if at a music shop will be able to fix you right up with the proper equipment for your guitar...keep in mind if you've been playing sitting down and you have achieved a favorable cord recognition when you strap up the cords you now know will be awkward for you until you find the correct neck angle for you.
