I asked my pediatrician. He seemed to think ALL was just a good and the reason it could be lower priced was actually BECAUSE they aren't paying doctors for advertisement! I switched over with my two boys and it works great.

I have used ALL, Dreft and Purex (all the baby kinds) and never had a problem but my son has no skin allergies. I was soo lucky because I got all 3 LARGE size detergents at my baby shower. My son is 6 months old now and I am just getting toward the bottom of my last one. I will def. go for the cheapest one!

it doesn't make any difference at all. I use All free and clear and i also use the Purex Free and Clear and my baby has no problem with either. our pediatrician actually asked what kind of detergent to use and said that it wasn't necessary to buy Dreft.
when i saw that price i freaked out too. i wouldn't pay for that stuff. i hear it doesn't even remove stains that well. I had a friend who used it for her babies and she said she only did it because she liked the smell.

Well it depends if your baby has sensitive skin, etc. I washed my son's clothes in regular detergent and he was fine, though once he developed eczema due to a food allergy, the doc said try to use a gentler detergent. There isnt any difference in ALL's baby detergent or Dreft as far as I know...the best thing would be to try both and see if there is any reaction with your baby's skin. Good luck :)

Trying the ALL is FINE...if you notice redness or rash on your baby's skin, then you can move back to the Dreft, but most babies will do just fine on any type of mild detergent. As long as you dont see any type of allergic reaction, whatever you use is okay. Save your $$ if you can!

Either will work. I used free and clear all. And even used the free and clear like product of Purex. After a month I started using reg Purex, why b/c the baby skin was touching my clothes washed in Purex and it didn't affect her when she was being held by me.
I have found issues with dryer sheets though. :) Good luck! :)

I use ALL. What you really need for baby is a fragrance and dye free detergent. The baby marketing side is simply that, marketing. Also don't forget, no dryer sheets with baby's clothes and linens.

You don't even have to buy the special baby detergents. Buy a "free and clear" version of regular detergent (no dyes or perfumes) and you'll be fine.

If money is an issue and you don't have any issues with familial allergies, try the ALL. If no reaction from baby, you're good to go.
