My favorite books right now are the Young Royals series by Catherine Meyer I believe. It's extremely fascinating for it speaks of the life of the females of the Tudor family. It's written well and keeps your interest for a long time. I'm reading them all after the other and not losing my interest one bit. I just wish there were more of them. Some of the titles include:
Mary, Bloody Mary
Patience, Princess Catherine
Doomed Queen Anne
Unfortunately, I can't remember the last one. You can read them in any order for they basically occur at the same time just from different points of view, but it's never boring. I think the reason why it has such an allure is because it's such a complicated and screwed up family. That's all I can say about these wonderful books. Hope you choose to read them!

I've read alot of the Dragonlance series; the Shannara trilogy; the Lord of the Rings trilogy, the first two books of the Inheritance trilogy; and the Harry Potter series to name a few. The Inheritance trilogy is a good read if your into Science Fiction/ Fantasy.

All of the John Grisham books,I've read most of them, just finished "The innocent man". That is a very unsettling book, about some( four men in particular) of the innocent men on death row. I think everyone should read it, especially the people that are for capital punishment.Such as I am......

My favourite writer is Banana Yoshimoto from Japan. All of her books are great, but I love Kitchen and N/P. Check them out!

i'm looking for good new ones myself.
not 'new' exactly, but an author i can't get enough of lately is David Foster Wallace. His short essay collection "a suposedly fun thing i'll never do again" is a good primer. if you wanna dive right in there is the massive (and massively entertaining) 'infinite jest.'
enjoy

I read mainly literary fiction and historicals.
Marilynne Robinson: "Housekeeping" and "Gilead"
Frank Delaney: "Ireland"
I'm reading Diana Gabaldon's "Outlander" now and the story is good enough to hold my attention and keep me reading, but it could've been much better edited.
I have a new one I've written, if you want to look at that:
http://www.lkhunsaker.com/rehearsal.htm
It's literary romance with comedy, drama, and music. :-)
