What failed patrol of Vietnamese skies?
Vietnam was "lost" because the administration did not have the guts to go in and finish the job. This was exacerbated by celebrities like Hanoi Jane saying stuff like she wished she could shoot down a USAF jet while visiting NVA officials; and protesters at home who were doing things like blow up Bank of America branches and sabotage companies that supported the war effort.
Our helicopter pilots in Vietnam were brave, intrepid and nearly always successful in their missions. The unsuccessful ones were usually killed trying to rescue soldiers and sometimes even South Vietnamese villagers.

the only problems in Vietnam were the press and protesters...that's why they're celebrated by the Communists who admit they were ready to concede defeat.
(and our lack of force today is directed by the same traitors)
