i make (from what i am told) to die for fudge and it was suggested to me that i should try and sell it...how would i go about starting something like that? would i need a lawyer or something?

You wouldn't need a lawyer because if you were to do a bake-sale type deal thing, then you can do it. Expecially if it's on your lawn, you can do whatever you feel like as long as it doesn't violate any laws. I would suggest to hang up signs and made advertise in the newspaper.

No you don't necessarily need an attorney,but you need a business license,insurance and a food/sanitation handling certificate.The License from your local village hall,insurance from any business insurer and the food license from your state food commission.
