He should be a roll model for young people. Cricket used to be a "gentlemans" sport. No longer it seems. Spitting in a "public" place is considered to be an offence in some parts of the World.
Some one should teach these guy manners.

Good question!

It isn't because of flies in Australia - Flintoff was doing this at home - and it isn't from running about for 3 hours, because sometimes he has done this as soon as he has come on the field. It is just a filthy habit he has picked up; he was also picking his nose yesterday.

It may sound corny and old-fashioned, but sportsmen are role models for youngsters so they should behave in the same way in which you would expect teachers to behave in a classroom. (I trust that nobody has had teachers who spit in the classroom....lol). Does anyone remember Eric Cantona kicking a spectator in the throat at a football match? Children all over the country were trying that one on the way to school the next day.

Flintoff deserves to be fned for his spitting - bringing the game into disrepute - his behaviour is far worse than Brett Lee's offence of "celebrating too early".

There is a new benchmark for disgusting behaviour and idiotic group hugging, skidding on the knees and baring chests. Spitting is foul and I thought it had been banned on football pitches. Imagine skidding on your knees through a load of gob!

Anyway, we shouldn't have to watch anyone to snorkel and spit out phlegm - that's anyone!!! Maybe it's what fame does for you if you can't handle it?

Could not agree more.
One expects our footballers to spit as in the main they are uneducated morons.
I would expect more from cricketers and rugby players but very sadly it is becomming the norm.

(1) WHICH "Ashes Team" (sic) are you talking about?

(2) I assume you mean "role" model not "roll" model.

(3) I assume you mean "Gentlemens' " not "Gentlemans"

(4) I assume you mean "someone" not "Some one"

(5) I assume you mean "this guy" not "these guy"
