Thomas Jefferson. Had another president been in his place, or had he hesitated, America would not reach "From sea to shining sea."

George Washington, He earned the position of President and served without compensation. We need another George to stand up and take back this country... Just a dream of mine.

We need an individual unaffiliated with any political party that has the strength and honor to win an election by a landslide so when the illegal electoral college nullifies the results the people will rise up and take back our country.

If George W, John Kerry, Al Gore and Hillary are the best we can do. It should not be too hard to find a real President.

Insanity is defined by doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results yet most Americans continue to vote Republican and Democratic and expect CHANGE...???

That's debatable. Here's my list. Washington, without him none of the others become President. Lincoln for obvious reasons. My personal favoriteTeddy Roosevelt and FDR. Truman would be my last pick and I respect him the most. Imagine the integrity the man must have had to accept the responsibility of dropping the first atomic bomb in history to be used in war-time.

With the worst President currently in office, when the next President is in office it would be easy HIM as the best. I think either of the Roosevelts were the best. As far as modern President, I would say LBJ or Carter.

There have been many great ones- but many more worse ones. The best ones really make a difference to the country in a positive way: Jefferson, Lincoln, FDR, Kennedy, and maybe even Clinton, though history needs more time on that one. Sometimes it's easier to tell who was the worst (and my vote goes to Bush- jr. that is).

Well, it depends on what you mean by best. Best for the times they were in is what you should ask.

Washington was our first, and lead this great land to many victories for the freedoms and life that we enjoy today.

Lincoln was the best for winning the civil war and abolishing slavery.

FDR lead us through WW2 and put a chicken in every pot.

In modern times it would have to be Regan. He brought an end to the cold war and facilitated the end of the USSR and the removal of the Berlin wall.

Thats the short answer.... and those work the best!

I was surprised to see someone name Thomas Jefferson as their favorite president. I figured Lincoln and Reagan would be here as well.

My favorite is Abraham Lincoln, for saving the country from being torn apart by civil war. And for doing so while suffering bouts of depression.

Well.. Abe was a racist and an Atheist...Which is suppose to be a secret.

I'd say the best president is Reagan, because he rebuilt the country and crumbled the Soviet Union.
