Hi honey.
I would be a bit worried if I were you. It all depends on whether the bleeding increases or just goes away. At this point in your pregnancy, if it is just spotting it is within the realm of normalcy. If the bleeding becomes heavier, like a period, I would suspect a miscarriage.
If it is just spotting I would not worry tho. Did it happen around the time that you would have had your period if you were not pregnant? That is pretty common.
I would be sure to mention it to your doctor. When is your appointment? You might want to call and perhaps speak to a nurse or even leave a message for the doctor. He might be able to call you back and make you feel much better.
After reading other replies I wanted to tell you that this happened to me with two out of 4 perfectly normal pregnancies. It was nothing to worry about and the doctor did not even want to see me. The reason is that this early in your pregnancy there is nothing they could do even if you were miscarrying. It is just too early. Try not to worry.
Good luck honey and please feel free to contact me any time. I would be happy to talk to you.
Love and Blessings
Lady T~

I would book an appointment straight away with your local GP or go to the local hospital immediatley to get checked out. They will be able to arrange for an ultrasound to see whether the baby is still okay and arrange two blood tests to check your hormone levels (to make sure they are still rising).
I had this in my second pregnancy at 8 weeks and at 14 weeks, and it ended up being because my placenta wasn't connected to the uterus wall correctly. Each time I bled, it was after fast walking, over exhaustion or sex. I avoided all three til I had my scan at 20 weeks, and the placenta ended up fixing itself.
I am now 37 weeks pregnant with all well.
Good luck!

Bleeding is not normal during pregnancy, so I would see a doctor ASAP. It may be nothing, don't be alarmed just yet, but it's best if a doctor told you that everything is okay and in case there is something that should be of concern, they'd be able to catch it early on and provide you with the help you need. Good luck!

Hi. This incident has never happened to me. During one of your first few visits to the doctors office, they tell you that if you have any bleeding to contact them or the hospital immediatly. With this being so early in the pregnancy, anything is possible and many changes in the body take place... Everyones body is different and the way they handle pregnancy is different, but I would defiantly contact your gynocologist as soon as possible just to get it checked out and make sure everything is okay, the sooner, the better! Best of luck to you! :)

My wife had the same thing happen, very light spotting. We called our prenatal doctor's office, and he had us go to the emergency room. Once there, they ran a few. The results showed nothing was wrong, but they told us to come back if it increased. The doctors said it was normal for some women to spot in the first couple of months.
Having been through this, I recommend calling your prenatal doctor's office first thing on Monday to get their opinion. They will either ask you to come in for the first available appointment, or tell you to go to the emergency room. Key thing here--call your doctor, and do not rely on the opinion of anyone on this website, even if they say they are a doctor. Better safe than sorry, CALL YOUR DOCTOR!

The same thing happened to me at 10 weeks - if its very light then there is every chance it could be normal - but i would check it out with your Dr and even ask to have an ultrasound. If it get s heavy or you have cramping go to the hospital.
Good luck

First of all...the best advice will come from your doctor who should be the one to settle any doubts especially in the first trimester. Although there can be a little spotting which happens to many women (some even continue to have periods) your doctor can give you a checkup. Just remember to take it easy and rest until you get to see your doc.
All the best.

Sometimes during pregnancy you will have something called spot bleeding... its almost like having a period while your pregnant... sometime normal... if you are expieriencing any pain or are uncomfortable call your doctor right away. Also exercise and rough movements bring this on as well... example sometimes sex... Still check with your doctor.,...

Call your OBGYN ASAP. It could be nothing but you can never be too careful. Don't worry about bothering them after hours. The same thing happened to me when I was preg. with my son. They're on call for that very reason.
