My general contractor has disappeared. My consruction loan is up in four months and all he has done is the footings and foundation. It has been weeks and he will not answer his phone. If the loan end I'm sure I will have to pay penalty fees. I have a cost break down from him, is he obigated legally to follow the cost break down. Is there anything to protect me or anything I can do?

contact your lawyer and have a copy of the contract that was signed with the contractor...hopefully your lawyer will have good news.

Disappeared? are you sure he had a license to do the work to begin with? I hope you signed a contract with start times and prices and atleast an estimated finished project time and they did and you kept a copy you may have been scammed if he's disappeared and not answering the phone might want to call Better business bureau and do a check on the company

That is what a contract is for...what does yours state? He is obligated, legally, to fulfill his contract.
