They still exist but we have lost the ability in our brains to see them. - we have grown up in a world of watching tv and following the guidelines/ laws of a money hungry society, so the part of our brain needed to see outside the square is not activated.
Its almost like gaining the 6th sense, some sort of intra dimensional ability used by animals and post modern humans just doesn't develop anymore.
Hopefully one day when the lust and greed for money subsides our race wille see them once more.

i think they have almost become on the endangered list, i dont usually see more then 3 or 4 flying around sprinkling pixie dust nowdays, unlike the old days when they were all over the place
