I had a house for 20 years but I have to say there's a lot to be said for a condo! Watch those fees, though. There's a pool.& hot tub & exercise room I don't have to take care of-I love to watch others shovel the snow & mow the lawn and rake the leaves! My utilities are about 1/3 of what I paid in my house. And if you save the extra money you'd spend on the house, I think you'd find, it would equal the equity in a house. Now, I loved my house for many years but expect to spend a lot of time & money on home improvements. Buy what you can truly afford!

The one I can afford.............
If they are both affordable, get the house, with a backyard, garage and on a culdesac, it will sell for more than a condo when you go to sell it, plus the homeowners dues are usually less in a house than a condo.
