If you're asking for only one, then my favorite anime right now is The Law of Ueki. I learned a lot of lessons from it. Sure I did, even though it is an action-packed anime.

Wellz..for me its gots ta be the Ghost in the Shell: SAC. Intricate plot, kick-arsenal animation, cool characters, wonderful soundtrack, action of the non-stop variety....!
Of course, you know, making me choose a favorite anime is very hard...argh!
