Well, there are a couple other methods, but they're incredibly invasive, such as taking a sample of your uterine fluid and/or blood from your baby. I don't recommend either.

I also can't quite come up with a reason to avoid an ultrasound. They're mostly accurate in determining the sex of your child (starting about now, for you). It's more like... if the ultrasound shows it's a boy, then it's almost definitely a boy. If it doesn't show it's a boy, then it might be either. Only on later ultrasounds is it usually possible to see the vulva and determine for sure that it's a girl.

Amniocentesis...it's this test where they pull some amniotic fluid from you using a needle. That test shows EVERYTHING. Whether you child has any defects and it can definitely show the sex (it's very very accurate). But they only do this test when you're having some kind of problem with your pregnancy.

Childbirth! LOL, sorry I couldn't resist. There are wives tales, but they are really not reliable. There is a chineese birthing chart, google it, and it was right on with my three kids, my friends' kids, etc. It's not a certain thing, but it really told the truth on like 11 births.

Google 'chineese birthing chart'. I saw it in a baby book, I don't remember what the title was.

my sister recently had a test because she is 43 years old to see if the baby had any defects they took fluid from the sack, all is well but as soon as they had the fluid they new exactly what sex is was however I wouldn't recommend it can cause a miscarriage as well and I don't think it worth it enjoy the surprise or talk to your Dr
