Well Actions speak louder than words, but it could be your Ace in the hole, as An idle mind is the devil's playground. So Are you a man or a mouse?, but you may find it's As useful as a lead balloon. But At the end of the day it maybe worth it. So if your Back is against the wall, and you think that you are Barking up the wrong tree, don't Beat around the bush, because Beggars can't be choosers, and you don't want to be Behind the times, and it could be The Best thing since sliced bread, and you can Bet your bottom dollar that it will be Better than a kick in the teeth , but By the same token the Buck stops here.(that was hard work, and if I don't get the 10 points for best answer then "There's just no Justice in the World!" lol)

So, you are not caught using them. You run the risk of being told, "You're sooo cliche!" Which does not bode well for you if you want to be considered very literate and very educated.

Using cliches means one is not able to describe things or events in a more appropiate or imaginary way.

There are some cliches out there whose meanings are not always obvious... "Pig in a poke" "Mind your P's and Q's" If you are not familiar with a particular cliche it will give you the meaning and history. It will also help you not use cliches inappropriately as many are apt to do.

It might put some humor in your life and possibly in crease your repertoire. Who knows when you might be called upon to be a master of ceremonies and this could come in handy.
