A lot of times, there is no color coding on a dryer plug. The reason is really simple! Follow the center connector on the plug, up the cable. The center wire is the ground, and goes to the center terminal on the dryer input. The other two wires can go to either the left or right connector, as the dryer is a 220 volt device. As long as you make sure the center prong on the plug connects to the center connection on the dryer's input panel, you really can't go wrong.
Added info: It should go without saying, but just to be safe--make sure you connect the cord to the dryer BEFORE plugging it in!!!

Sorry for the undesirable information even if it is not any longer the flexibility cord, it is the dryer. the flexibility to the dryer is 240v, that heats the elements, each so often runs the motor than ability is decreased internally to 100 and twenty to ability the mild, switches and such. different undesirable information, it is consistently extra quite priced to purchase a sparkling one, yet in case you will get a quote from a repairman i will allow you be the decide.

On a pigtail, there should be 2 black and a white wire, newer ones have a ground, usually bare or green.
The blacks (usually copper colored connectors) go to the hot (+) connectors on the dryer, the whire (usually a silver connector) goes to the common (-). The green/bare (osually has a silver connector or none) goes to the grounding screw.
If you're talking about putting a new plug on the end of an existing wire, the copper screws are hot (2), the silver is common (1) & green (1) is ground.----------

Since your email is not confirmed, I can't reply that way.
The black & red are hot, they go to the copper color screws on the plug. the white is neutral. it should be a silver screw on the plug.

You will have to read the installation manual. Check the Hotpoint web site if you don't have one.
